EPYC 7642 is a server/workstation processor from AMD released on 7 August 2019, and it is in active production status now. It belongs to EPYC family and has a Rome architecture. This processor is built on AMD Socket SP3, and uses Gen 4 PCI express connection. 7 nm process is used in production.
Processor has 48 cores and 96 threads, with the base frequency of 2.4 GHz. It has DDR4-3200 MHz Eight-channel memory support. As for the cache, it supports L1 96K (per core), L2 512K (per core) and L3 256MB (shared).
